Maker Calculators

Making a batch of anything at home means doing math with sticky hands. How much wax fills six jars? How much fragrance oil goes in? What is 60:40 of fourteen ounces, again? Maker Calculators exists so you can stop working that out on the back of an envelope and get on with the part you actually enjoy.

What you get

  • 21 calculators, free, with nothing to sign up for
  • Guides for the things a calculator cannot tell you, like why body butter turns grainy or why incense will not stay lit
  • Answers in ounces and grams, ready to weigh out

Everything is by weight

A cup of shea butter and a cup of oil do not weigh the same, so measuring by the cup quietly breaks the recipe. Every tool here works by weight instead. A kitchen scale that reads to one gram is the only equipment you need.

Your numbers stay yours

The calculators run inside your browser. Your batch sizes, recipes and prices are never sent anywhere, never stored, and never saved between visits. Close the tab and they are gone.

We work hard to get the numbers right

Craft recipes have a habit of being copied from blog to blog until nobody knows where the figures came from. The ratios here follow supplier instructions and published sources, and when suppliers genuinely disagree, the calculator gives you the range instead of picking one and calling it gospel. If a number ever looks wrong to you, please tell us. We would much rather fix it than defend it.

Where to start

  • Candles: Wax amounts, fragrance load, wick sizes, cure times and pricing.
  • Incense: Dipping solution for sticks and cones, soak and dry times.
  • Bath & Body: Body butter, lotion bars, scrubs, shower steamers and bath bombs.
  • Home Fragrance: Reed diffusers, and how much fragrance oil a bottle takes.

How it stays free

Some of the supply links here earn a small commission if you buy through them, at no extra cost to you, and the site carries ads. That is what keeps everything free to use. Nobody pays to be recommended, and the numbers never change because of it.
